Home Buyer Inspection

A buyer inspection is designed to help homebuyers, both new and used, learn about beneficial qualities, discover compromised or damaged systems and recognize potential hazards. If compromised or damaged systems are found, the inspector will help you understand the cause and offer suggestions for possible repair.

A typical buyer inspection will take approximately 3-4 hours. We strongly encourage you to be present during the inspection and to ask any question that you may have. In fact, we'll go out of our way to schedule an appointment where you can join the inspector for at least an hour. This is a great time to tap into the knowledge and experience of the inspector so you make informed decisions about your new home.

At the time of the inspection you will receive a detailed report written in easy to understand plain language that identifies and describes any problem area(s) along with care and maintenance tips.
Our inspection covers hundreds of items and systems including:
  • Site/Drainage
  • Structure
  • Foundation
  • Exterior/Interior
  • Roof
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Heating
  • Cooling
  • And much more

We highly recommended that you consider testing your home for Radon.. Radon is colorless and odorless and is present in most homes in Minnesota. We want you to know how much Radon is in your home so you are better able to make informed decisions about your family's health. Radon testing is available at additional cost and may take several days to obtain test results.

During the inspection, if we suspect that the home may have elevated levels of Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas, we will perform testing at no additional charge.

A Home Buyer Inspection will typically take approximately 3-4 hours. All conditions noted during the inspection will be entered into a laptop computer and a printed report using concise easy to understand language will be given to you at the time of the inspection.
